The benefits of moving into WordPress is that it’s very widely supported with a huge user base, many thousands of quality plugins and a great developer community should the client ever wish to go elsewhere. WordPress also makes it very simple for the client to manage all of the content, products and everything to do with the site, in one place. Finally, out of the box, SEO is superb and what with the additional tweaks that my Fluidal theme does, it makes for a killer combination.
So it was a case of developing a new WordPress theme (starting with Fluidal), to match the existing, beautiful design and improving on it where necessary. I feel the interactive planner now works much better and with the whole site being slightly narrower (960px wide) when I moved it over, the line lengths are shorter and therefore easier to read.
She also had a shop which needed to be directly translated. So I started with Woocommerce and heavily customised it to fit in with the new design.
All in all, a successful move and should happily grow with the client’s business.
- Responsive, fluid design using my Fluidal boilerplate WordPress theme
- Heavily customised online shop
- Easy to update by using normal WordPress posts and pages
- Interactive, responsive treatment planner
